At Wireless Hill, on Alfred Cove’s eastern boundary, there are some great river views from the lookout, and it's here you'll discover a Perth landmark – the Wireless Hill Telecommunications Museum, which stands at the site of the first communications radio in Western Australia. 

The building in which the museum is established was built in 1912 and is one of Australia's earliest links with radio. The collection of equipment on display represents a range from early radio technology to sophisticated, modern equipment, illustrating the evolutionary process of this communications medium. The museum is now an integral part of Wireless Hill Park, which covers an area of some 40ha that has been developed as a nature reserve.

Alfred Cove receives its name from the adjacent cove in the Swan River, which was named after a pioneer settler of the area Alfred Waylen.
